The ChangeTheWorld - Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge is a campaign to encourage and increase youth volunteerism and to encourage and foster a life-long commitment to volunteering. This year there were 21 volunteer centres across Ontario who participated. The initiative is a challenge for youth, ages 14 to 18 years, to get involved by volunteering and to be a force for change and for good in their local community.
ChangeTheWorld was held during National Volunteer Week (April 10 to 16) through to May 1, 2011, and is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI), and is supported by the Ontario Volunteer Centre Network (OVCN).
This year, the goal was to engage 10,000 youth from all across Ontario in local events and activities for a minimum of 3 hours of volunteering. Results of this year's campaign will be posted soon...stay tuned!
